Redox Media. A full half pound of oxidation-reduction media. This is a patented technology that promises to revolutionize the water purification industry. Redox media works on an "electrochemical" principal placing a charge on contaminant molecules, heavy metal ions and some inorganic chemical molecules, causing them to attach to the media surface. The redox media alone will remove over 99% of the chlorine from over 8000 gallons of water! Redox media also removes dissolved lead, cadmium, arsenic and hydrogen sulfide. Redox is a natural bacteriostatic agent and EPA certified material that prevents bacteria, algae and mold from growing within the LSI unit...and does it naturally without adding silver or anything toxic to the water.

Activated Carbon Chamber. A full 4" deep premium grade, granulated micropore carbon (GAC) bed. The GAC bed will adsorb volatile and synthetic organic chemicals as well as some pesticides and chemical solvents. A top quality filtration system would never rely solely on GAC for chemical removal. We incorporate this into the LSI filter to extend the life of the solid carbon block.

Postfilter. Another full 1/2 thick spun polypropylene, 20 micron depth filter. Designed to protect the solid carbon block.

Solid Carbon Block. A one micron, high efficiency, solid carbon block depth filter. As water is forced through the solid carbon matrix additional chemical solvents, lead at high pH, volatile organic chemicals, pesticides and herbicides are removed. The solid carbon block will also filter out pathogens such as Giardia lamblia and Cryptosporidium. There are filters on the market selling for more than $300 which only contain a solid carbon block!
